Representatives of Musninkai rural community Jelena, Ozgun, Zivile and representative of Sirvintos Eldership Rima have joined international partners meeting in Santa Maria di Leuca (IT) on 26 - 29 June 2022. The AIM of the meeting was Presentation of the results of the local researches and preparation of the next Local Initiatives about E-CITIZENSHIP; Presentation of the new CERV programme.

"I-PLAY: Internet access for Participation, Learning and Active Youth" is a 24 months initiative, designed by 9 partners from 7 EU (IT,PT,FR,BE,BG,LT,HE) and 1 neighbor (AL) Countries, with the aim to establish a Network of Organizations and Towns,to give voice to rural and peripheral territories and digitally excluded citizens (migrants, refugees, disabled, but not only), by facilitating debates on the need of an equal access to the Internet and on its future in EU.The global health emergency caused by the COVID-19 has forced EU citizens to digitally re-think their way of life, working, studying, learning, communicating and participating. But, how it is possible to move so quickly towards a digital-based society, to talk about civic and democratic participation and to contribute to the Union policy-making process, without guaranteeing EQUAL ACCESS to the internet for all? What are the EU initiatives and programs on this purpose and how could everyone contribute to a more digitally inclusive society? With its structured workplan (6 International Events, 24 Local Debates and 8 Local Dissemination Meetings in 8 Countries), the project impacts on more than 600 direct and 35.000 indirect participants. 16 Young Players (2 per country) first will contribute to local researches on good practices to be shared (collected in the E-Book "I-PLAY Inclusive practices" ) and, then, will act as digital facilitators and multipliers, by stimulating debates on the future of digital inclusion in EU, and collecting ideas and proposals on e-Citizenship, Digital Solidarity, Distance Learning, Remote Working, Digital Communication (collected in the Recommendations "I-PLAY for the Future of Europe:how to foster digital inclusion"). The Recommendations, as result of this long-lasting participatory bottom-up approach, will be then addressed to the relevant policy-makers, thanks to some partner organizations with their consultative status at the EU Parliament and thanks to the Eurodesk Network which will support the dissemination campaign.

Inclusive Future Leaders: a journey of growth, courage, and leadership

Inclusive Future Leaders was an international youth exchange project funded by European Union that brought together young people from Turkey, Romania, Spain, Poland, and Lithuania to learn about leadership, collaboration, and inclusion. This project was more than just exchange – it was a week of courage, growth, and new discoveries!  Below, participants share their experiences, impressions, and the most valuable lessons they took home! I really miss the days we all stayed together. It's a very precious experience for me and I want to live it more. About my participation in the project i am really glad of myself and everybody. I was more social then the normal time when i was there. When i return home i realized lots of things. One of them was i want to do it again and I'll miss my friends so much. I realized like i grown up here and developed myself. I learned a lot. About friendship, leadership, other countries cultures and languages. Furthermore i also improved my Englis...

Step by step participation

Here’s what I’ve learned during the Step by Step training course about youth participation: I learned how different events for the youth can be organized. Like what to keep in mind, how to manage without a (big) budget and how to keep the youth interested. I also learned new games and techniques to either get to know the group better or how to energize it. One of my favorites were fruit salad with chairs. I learned about how to boost youth participation / activate youngsters to participate. That can be done for example by just simple offering the youngsters the kind of activities they want to do themselves. Aka by listening the youngsters. I also learned about youth participation situations and challenges in different European countries. This was interesting and eye-opening. I learned about different kinds of youth centers. Like what they can offer, how much they can be open and who the workers can be (volunteers, youth workers and so on). I think the 8-step ladder about levels of yout...
